Ahoy, Mateys! It’s National School Lunch Week!
We celebrated with the theme "School Lunch Pirates: Find Your Treasure!" 🏴☠️ Our amazing Food and Nutrition teams showed their school spirit in new pirate-themed shirts, thanks to a manager who went the extra mile to make the week special.
It was a fun-filled week, and GPS, along with our students, want to thank FANS for taking us on this high-seas adventure of good nutrition, where we discovered treasure in every healthy meal!

On September 24th, the Gretna Public School District Board of Education was honored with the prestigious President’s Board Award, presented by the Nebraska Association of School Boards. This recognition celebrates the Board’s dedication to excellence in leadership and their ongoing commitment to professional development. Board members Greg Beach, Mark Hauptman, Rick Hollendieck, Kyle Janssen, Dawn Stock, and Blake Turpen were acknowledged for their exceptional efforts. Join us on September 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Aspen Creek Middle School for a county-wide tax hearing. Gretna Public Schools and other Sarpy County entities will present their plans in this "Pink Postcard Hearing." We invite residents to participate and share their input.

Thomas Elementary will begin using Artsonia (www.artsonia.com), an online student art museum, to create digital portfolios of students’ artworks. Not only can you view your child’s artwork all year, but you may also purchase any of your child’s artwork that is in the gallery and Thomas receives 20% of the profit with each order. Please look for your child's Artsonia log-in sheet to come home soon in his/her folder. **A quick note: If your child has Mrs. Hicks, they are split into a different 3rd grade class for specials, so you will see their work under a different teacher's name at the top of the form!
Any questions can be directed to Mr. Naylor! (mnaylor@gpsne.org)

Gretna Public Schools invites the community to a budget hearing on September 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the District Office. A tax hearing and the regular board meeting will follow, providing an opportunity for public input.
