All classes will get a chance to stop by the library to preview and shop at the book fair. Students can shop before school, during their library time, and alter school. Kona Ice will be here from 4:30-6:30 Wednesday evening. We will be partnering with
PTO and hosting Breakfast with a Buddy 7:15-8:00 on the morning of Tuesday, April 16th and Pancake Man from 5:30-7:30 on Friday, April 19!

Safety Alert for 204th Street and Covington & Devonshire Neighborhoods: Saturday, April 20th, 8:30 am.
Please be aware that the Guardian Run will be held this Saturday, April 20th, starting at 8:30 am. The race will start on the south driveway of Gretna High School (between GHS and Gretna United Methodist Church), travel down 204th street to the Covington Blvd, through Covington 1 & 2, entering the GHS track using the gate at Brentwood Drive, and finishing on the track at the GHS stadium. Streets will be closed ahead of the race and reopened as soon as runners have cleared the street. Look for signs along the route in the days leading up to the race.

It’s staff appreciation week next week and our Thomas Elementary staff is SUN-sational! Please help us celebrate our wonderful teachers and staff with a new activity for students to join in on each day.
-Monday: 'Dive into Monday' (give your teacher a high five)
-Tuesday: 'Give a Little Sunshine' (provide a treat for your teacher and wear their favorite color)
-Wednesday: "Let's lei it out-our staff is the best" (give a staff member a compliment)
-Thursday: "Surf's Up" (wear your favorite beach attire)
-Friday: "We shore appreciate our staff!" (write a note or drawing for a staff member)

Thanks to Sophie Herr with Gretna Crossing YMCA who came to TES to support the Sole Sisters (girls running club). The group fitness class was hard work and we appreciate your help.
Expectation Stations-TES students reviewed common area expectations around school following our G.P.S. acronym(Give Kindness; Practice Accountability; Stay Safe). Great job to our 5th gr. students who took on the role of 'teacher' & reviewed the expectations with all students.
Thanks to all of our TES families who attended the 'Read and Feed' Thursday evening. A special thanks to Colton Knott (GEHS student) for reading 'Ruby Finds a Worry' to all of our kids and families and to Mrs. Wolverton for planning and putting this event on. Great work!
