Jim Oliver, 8th grade American History teacher at Gretna Middle School, received the Citizenship Education Teacher Award at the Nebraska VFW Mid-Winter Conference. Sponsored by VFW Post 10725, the award honors his dedication to teaching history and civic responsibility.

Connie Sydzyik has served Gretna Public Schools since 2014, bringing joy to students across the district’s lunchrooms. She loves the unique spirit of each school and, outside of work, enjoys Husker sports, traveling, and time with her husband, sons, and six grandchildren.

Trina Popple joined Gretna Public Schools as a science teacher at GHS before becoming a Technology Integrationist at GHS and GEHS. In her second year, she helps teachers and students integrate technology into learning. Outside work, she quilts and loves One Direction.

Rachel Warren joined Gretna Public Schools in 2014 as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. Now an early interventionist, she supports children birth to five and serves as an Autism Team coach. She lives in Gretna with her husband and daughters.
