Text Reading: Important Information! District Budget Meetings

Gretna, NE — Gretna Public Schools is pleased to announce a series of upcoming events designed to inform and engage the community regarding the district's budget plans for the 2024-2025 school year. These events offer valuable opportunities for residents to learn about the district’s financial planning and priorities, as well as to interact directly with district officials.

The first event will be held on September 4 at Gretna High School, where a comprehensive district budget presentation will take place in the theater. The presentation is scheduled to begin promptly at 6:30 p.m., followed by a question and answer session. This interactive forum is intended to provide patrons with a thorough understanding of the budget while addressing any questions or concerns directly.

Following this, on September 9, the district will host a budget hearing at 7:00 p.m. at the district office. A tax hearing will follow this session before the regular board meeting. These hearings are vital, offering the community a chance to provide input and feedback on the proposed budget before its finalization.

Lastly, on September 19, Aspen Creek Middle School will host a county-wide tax hearing, starting at 6:30 p.m. During this event, Gretna Public Schools, along with other local taxing entities from Sarpy County, will present their plans. This session, known as the "Pink Postcard Hearing," is specifically for organizations that meet a certain taxing threshold. Residents should receive additional details via postcard in the mail prior to the hearing.

We look forward to your participating in these events and appreciate your ongoing support as we work together to ensure the best educational experiences for our students.
